Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) Awareness with Daylong

Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) is a skin condition that is often misdiagnosed, despite it affecting nearly as many people as psoriasis (between 1-2% of the UK population). Did you know that HS patients receive their diagnosis after a 10-year delay on average? HS is often misdiagnosed as alternative skin ulcerating conditions, leaving people with many years of suffering from the physical symptoms and their psychological consequences.

Daylong has launched a wide-scale campaign to educate clinicians within the NHS. As part of our efforts, we have commissioned a multi-professional consensus statement, which is the highest clinical evidence-based HS patient Care Provision in the UK. We are distributing HS information booklets for nurses and we have created an online training module on HS in collaboration with Wound Care Today.

Alongside educating healthcare professionals, we have also brought HidraWear, the world’s first HS specific wound care management system to the UK, which is now also available for HS patients on prescription. You can find useful digital assets below and fill in the HS Awareness pack form to receive a printed education pack. If you think your colleagues would be interested too, we can send you more!
