The dads who showed us their socks
This June we asked the nation's dads to do something slightly unusual: roll up their trousers and show us the compression socks and stockings they actually wear. A brave bunch did exactly that, and we have been smiling at the photos ever since.
The entries came from everywhere. A striped garden lawn. The front doorstep after parkrun. A hallway before a shift. A patio in full sunshine. One even arrived from a plane somewhere over India, compression stockings up on the footrest for the long haul to Bangalore. Everyday life, everyday comfort, exactly what we hoped to see.
Every entry won
We promised a prize draw for ten £50 Amazon vouchers, and a £40 Daylong voucher for the first twenty entries. We can now happily report the best possible outcome: every valid entry won a £50 Amazon voucher, and every entrant received their £40 voucher too. All of our winners have been contacted directly.

How it all worked
For Father's Day this year we skipped the usual gift guide and celebrated the classic dad present instead: socks. Through the week of 15 to 21 June our newsletter readers could send in a photo or short video of their Daylong compression socks or stockings out in the real world. Everyday moments, good light, socks the star of the show, faces optional.
Every valid entry earned a £40 Daylong voucher as one of the first twenty, plus a place in the draw for a £50 Amazon voucher. The campaign has now closed, the prizes are with their winners, and the photos above are shared with the consent each entrant gave when they took part.
