| Monday 7th June, 2010  We are currently conducting some new trials with superbrand Solidea. Solidea was founded in Italy by Enzo Pinelli in the late seventies. (What led a man to make a living on legwear, we don't know—but we're glad he did it.) His vision was to create 'glam gear' that looks lovely and luxe, but also gives you body-bettering benefits for your buck. Solidea products use the magic of micro-massage to shape, tone, smooth, energize and put the 'squeeze' on cellulite and veins of the spider or varicose variety.
 They're available in everything from leggings to socks—and are even recommended by doctors. Back to top Lymphodema is part of who I am and the power of Facebook  We are actively seeking patient and consumer groups that we can work with to trial our products and to offer groups discounts to for shopping on www.daylong.co.uk. We have made a great start by working with a number of Facebook groups including “lymphoedema is part of who I am” This group “lympoedema is part of who I am” was set up as a place for young people suffering from lymphoedema to come together to share experiences and feelings. It now has over 800 members. Members fo the group have been testing our products for us to great effect. Back to top Daylong is working for me… Azhar Rana, aged 33, of Leeds for the last 9 years his body has been ravaged by SLE, a form of Lupus which causes the body’s own immune system to damage and destroy all the vital organs. Azhar has developed Hughes Syndrome, a condition which causes the blood to clot - and he has suffered Deep Vein Thromboses - and Chronic Venous Insufficiency which causes his veins to leak. Both conditions necessitate the wearing of compression garments. Azhar is a big fan of www.daylong.co.uk “The website has so many different products. I’m actually happy to wear tights now because they’re so much more comfortable and look better because they’re available in different colours. That makes me feel more positive about the future. I just want to get my life back now.” Lindsey Summerhill, aged 29, suffers with Primary Chronic Lymphoedema which means that her body can not rid itself of harmful toxins making her legs swell to twice the size. Walking is difficult and extremely painful. So, at an age when girls are experimenting with fashion, for years Lindsey chose to cover her swollen legs, and dreaded beige stockings, with trousers. Today, Lindsey shops at www.daylong.co.uk and has a variety of styles and colours of compression stockings, tights and socks to choose from. Lindsey, set up Facebook site “Lymphoedema Is Part Of Who I Am” – which has attracted 800 members, and is now working alongside Daylong to spread the word to sufferers. “Some of our members are as young as 16 and still at school and I feel so sorry for them, particularly now when the fashion is for short skirts. It’s good that they now have something fashionable to wear on their legs which actually helps relieve the symptoms.” Back to top |
