How our they help
It’s all down to the graduated compression. Compression socks like flight socks and travel socks work hard to ease your blood flow and prevent DVT.
DVT occurs when there is a partial or total blockage of blood vessels by a blood clot. It normally occurs in the deep veins of your legs after you’ve been sitting still for long periods. As the blood flow slows it is more likely to form clots. Dehydration and low humidity air can make the problem worse. DVT can mean you suffer swollen or painful calves or thighs. Left untreated, a clot can break away and lodge in the lungs or the brain, possibly proving fatal.
Our flight socks – or any of the travel socks, compression socks and stockings available from Daylong – gently compress your calves. This puts pressure on the veins deep inside your calves, which pumps your blood back up to your heart. So instead of slightly sludgy blood, with the danger of clots forming, these socks keep your blood flowing and your legs healthy and refreshed.
A great choice of flight socks, travel socks and compression socks
All our compression hosiery can be used to help prevent DVT on flights or when sitting still for long periods (like in a car or on a bus). We have a wide range to choose from whether its mens or womens in our flight socks or travel socks. Women can also wear any of our compression socks, tights or stockings, all of which are wonderfully effective in the fight against DVT.
